About our bath resealing in Ballycastle

We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Common call-outs are for sealant that’s split or lifting and an untidy old seal, across shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and baths.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Moyle.

How the visit works

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a couple of hours. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Ballycastle: your questions answered

What happens if you find more damage?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

How long does resealing take?

Most reseals take about two hours. Leave it to cure before use.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Moyle.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Do you come to Ballycastle?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Ballycastle and the rest of Moyle. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Resealing in Ballycastle: why it matters

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

  • No need to remove anything
  • Normally one visit, start to finish
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • One price list for the entire UK

What we cannot put right

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Hollow or loose tiles

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Landlord and trade work in Ballycastle

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Do you need bath resealing in Ballycastle?

In time, even good sealant discolours. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Stained silicone
  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Gaps by the taps
  • Damp near the bath
