Bath resealing in Balmullo, done in place
A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. If you are dealing with silicone coming away from the tiles and unsealed corners, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Fife.

Work for landlords and builders
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.
Aftercare tips
To keep it looking its best:
- Store bottles on a shelf
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Keep the joints dry
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
Is resealing worth it?
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Balmullo. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

The process
On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take about two hours for a bath. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
