Book bath resealing in Belfast

Bath resealing in Belfast, done in place

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. We work on baths, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are a messy previous reseal and black spots in the silicone.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Air the room after use

Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

The process

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take around two hours.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Why it’s worth resealing in Belfast

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why book with us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Most jobs done in one visit

Read our pricing.

Prices and what affects them

You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send photos for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Belfast: your questions answered

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.

Are there extra charges for Belfast?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath or shower and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Do you cover Belfast?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Belfast and the rest of Belfast. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

How long does resealing take?

Generally a couple of hours, plus curing time.

Can you quote from pictures?

Generally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • A flexing bath
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
