Bath resealing in Blackwell, done in place

We reseal baths, shower trays, basins and worktops, with mould-resistant sanitary silicone. A typical reseal takes a couple of hours. We regularly repair wet rooms, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks, and common reasons people get in touch are a messy previous reseal and silicone coming away from the tiles.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Darlington and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Blackwell use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Signs you need bath resealing in Blackwell

Even good sealant eventually discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Unsealed corners
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Black spots in the silicone

FAQs for Blackwell

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Do you work in Blackwell?

Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Blackwell from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

What a repair cannot fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • A flexing bath
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Resealing in Blackwell: why it matters

Resealing costs very little, and it protects everything around the bath. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why us?

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Same prices wherever you are

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

How it works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a couple of hours. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

How to prepare

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

How to get a price

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Keep the joints dry

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.
