Bath Resealing for Bournemouth homes
Bath resealing across Bournemouth and nearby, usually in one visit and guaranteed for a year.
- Gaps by the taps
- Sealant that’s split or lifting
- Black mould in the sealant

Is resealing worth it?
Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Your questions about bath resealing in Bournemouth
How do I get a price for bath resealing in Bournemouth?
The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.
Do you come to Bournemouth?
Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Bournemouth from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you will get one combined price.
When can you do it?
We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
Will it make a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
What happens if you find more damage?
Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.
How long does resealing take?
A bath or shower usually takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Air the room after use
Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

What we are called out for in Bournemouth
Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning only removes the surface.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- Old sealant that looks dirty
- Black mould in the sealant
- Gaps in the seal
- A messy previous reseal
What your quote should include
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- What happens if they find more damage
- How your room will be protected
- What preparation is included
DIY kit or professional repair?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
Different materials, different repairs
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
When we would advise against a repair
To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
- Hidden water damage
- Hollow or loose tiles
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.
Materials we repair
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Basins & vanity units
- Baths
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
The process
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to about two hours for a bath.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
Before we arrive
- Open a window if you can
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
