Bath resealing near Boynton

Bath resealing in Boynton without replacing anything

A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Then the fresh sealant goes on, as one neat, continuous bead. If you are dealing with gaps in the seal and leaks at the edges, we can generally put it right.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Boynton and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Boynton

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • A flexing bath
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units

The process

We work cleanly and quietly. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes around two hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

How we price bath resealing

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How much damage there is

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

How to get a fixed price

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Use the extractor fan

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

Questions from Boynton

How long will it take?

Usually a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Normally about a day later. We confirm before we leave.

What happens next?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote with dates.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
