Trusted bath resealing in Bradenham

Bath resealing in Bradenham, done in place

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. Typical jobs include black spots in the silicone and stained silicone, in kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

What bath resealing costs

We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • The material and finish
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Doing more than one item at once

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Bradenham. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower, we can price the job without visiting.

Resealing in Bradenham: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Bradenham: your questions answered

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

How long does silicone take to cure?

Normally about a day later. We’ll tell you the exact time.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Can new silicone go over old?

All the old sealant comes out. Fresh silicone doesn’t stick to old.

Will the price change on the day?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

What happens on the day

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes around two hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

How to prepare

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

In time, even good sealant discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Damp near the bath
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
