Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Brixton, Greater London
Bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone for homes and businesses in Brixton and across Greater London. Send pictures for a free, fixed quote.
- Stained silicone
- Sealant that is split or lifting
- Black spots in the silicone

What happens on the day
When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take around two hours. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- We clean the joint and treat any mould.
- We ensure the joint is completely dry.
- Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
- New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Bath resealing at your home in Brixton
Preparation is everything in a reseal: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Then the fresh sealant goes on, as one neat, continuous bead. If you are dealing with water getting behind the bath or tray and old sealant that looks dirty, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Brixton as everywhere else we work.

What we cannot put right
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:
- A flexing bath
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.
Materials we work on in Brixton
- Baths
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Wet rooms
Is resealing worth it?
Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
What you get with us
- Normally one visit, start to finish
- No need to remove anything
- We come to you, anywhere in the UK
- We leave the room as we found it
See our prices page.
What your bath or shower is made of matters
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.
How we price bath resealing
Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The material and finish
- How many items we do on one visit
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed price
Phone pictures are fine. Ensure they show:
- Details of any past repairs
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Something in shot to show the size
There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
Work for landlords and builders
Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.
Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple:
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
- Air the room after use
Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing.
Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
