Bath resealing in Broomer's Corner without replacing anything

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. Whether it’s old sealant that looks dirty and a messy previous reseal, we can help.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Your questions about bath resealing in Broomer's Corner

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We will give you the curing time, normally around a day.

Do you work in Broomer's Corner?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Broomer's Corner and the rest of West Sussex. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

What happens on the day

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for about two hours for a bath from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

When we would advise against a repair

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Keep the joints dry
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

When to call us in Broomer's Corner

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed while the bath was empty.

Look out for these signs:

  • A messy previous reseal
  • Gaps by the taps
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray

Questions to ask before booking

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Who will actually do the work
