Bath resealing near Caergwrle

How we handle bath resealing in Caergwrle

All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. We regularly repair baths, wet rooms and shower trays & enclosures, and people most frequently call us about sealant that’s split or lifting and damp near the bath.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Caergwrle

For anyone letting property in or around Caergwrle, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

What affects the price in Caergwrle

You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • The material and finish
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What kind of damage it is

A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower

Upload a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Caergwrle, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

What we do, step by step

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes around two hours. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Open a window if you can

Caergwrle questions

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Movement is the usual cause. We fill the bath before sealing it.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Typically poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

Why reseal now?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Looking after it afterwards

Aftercare is simple:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
