Bath resealing in Church Lench

How we handle bath resealing in Church Lench

Baths, trays, basins and kitchen worktops all get resealed, with mould-resistant sanitary silicone. Most jobs take a couple of hours, then it needs to cure. We work on wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures, and people most frequently call us about silicone coming away from the tiles and old sealant that looks dirty.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Do you need bath resealing in Church Lench?

Joints split if the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed while the bath was empty.

Our hiring checklist

Church Lench: your questions answered

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Are there extra charges for Church Lench?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We will give you the curing time, generally around a day.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

How long does resealing take?

A bath or shower generally takes a couple of hours. Leave it to cure before use.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

What does bath resealing cost?

We give a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Prices and what affects them

We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Access to the area

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Why it’s worth resealing in Church Lench

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What you get with us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • A fixed quote before booking

What we can’t put right

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • A flexing bath
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Hollow or loose tiles

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

What happens on the day

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes around two hours. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Advice

How to care for the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Keep the joints dry
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
