Bath resealing at your home in Cooper's Hill

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Our technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and baths, and common reasons people get in touch are an untidy old seal and unsealed corners.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Do you need bath resealing in Cooper's Hill?

Even good sealant eventually discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

People typically call us when they notice something like this:

  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Stained silicone
  • Damp near the bath
  • Sealant that’s split or lifting

Choosing a repair company

Landlords, agents and businesses in Cooper's Hill

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Cooper's Hill as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Gloucestershire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal

Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

What affects the price in Cooper's Hill

You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • What the surface is made of
  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes

Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Quotes from your pictures

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The material, if you know it
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath or shower, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.

When a repair is not the answer

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Why reseal now?

A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book.
