Bath resealing in Corris

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Corris as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

How we handle bath resealing in Corris

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Whether it’s missing sealant behind the taps and damp near the bath, we can usually put it right.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

How to prepare

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Open a window if you can

Advice

Common questions in Corris

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

How long will it take?

Most reseals take about two hours. Leave it to cure before use.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

What happens next?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Corris and the rest of Powys. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.

What we cannot put right

A repair isn’t right for every job, including:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Movement in the bath or tray

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we work on in Corris

  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

What we’re called out for in Corris

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed while the bath was empty.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • A messy previous reseal
  • Sealant that’s split or lifting
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Black mould in the sealant

What your quote should include

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Who turns up on the day
  • How the room is protected while they work

10 questions to ask before booking

Repairs by material

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Resealing in Corris: why it matters

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

How to look after the repair

To keep it looking its best:

  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Keep the joints dry

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
