What affects the price in Cotes Heath

Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Cotes Heath. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Any details about the material

Bath resealing at your home in Cotes Heath

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. We work on wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures, and the jobs we see most are discoloured, yellow sealant and an untidy old seal.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it.

Signs you need bath resealing in Cotes Heath

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • Stained silicone
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Silicone smeared on tiles

What your quote should include

  • How long it needs to cure
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How to look after the finish
  • How your room will be protected

10 questions to ask before booking

How to look after the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Wipe the joints dry after use

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Cotes Heath: your questions answered

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We’ll give you the curing time, typically around a day.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Something is moving. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

What does bath resealing cost?

Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You will get a fixed figure before you book.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Related advice

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Cotes Heath as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
