We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
About our bath resealing in Cotton
Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. We’re often asked to fix missing sealant behind the taps and discoloured, yellow sealant, on wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units.
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Staffordshire.

Questions from Cotton
Can you price it without visiting?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.
Why does the silicone keep cracking?
The bath or tray is probably flexing. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.
Is the work guaranteed?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
Do you work in Cotton?
We do. Technicians travel to Cotton from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Do you charge for travel?
We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
What does bath resealing cost?
Every job gets a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item with your ST10 postcode.
When can I use the bath after resealing?
You will get the curing time from us.
Will you leave a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
When we’d advise against a repair
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Hidden water damage
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Basins & vanity units
- Wet rooms
Landlords, agents and businesses in Cotton
Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.
How we price bath resealing
We charge the same across the UK, including Cotton. The price reflects:
- The material and finish
- Doing more than one item at once
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Getting a price from photos
When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- A picture taken from further back
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Resealing in Cotton: why it matters
Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

How to look after the repair
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Keep the joints dry
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use to keep mould away.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.
What happens on the day
You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It generally takes around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.
How to prepare
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
