Bath resealing in Coverack, done in place

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Common call-outs are for water getting behind the bath or tray and old sealant that looks dirty, on wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

The process

There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take around two hours, including clearing up.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Coverack questions

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

How do I get a price for bath resealing in Coverack?

We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

How long does a reseal take?

Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Coverack

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

When we would advise against a repair

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Repairs by material

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Why it’s worth resealing in Coverack

Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Why Coverack customers choose us

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Typically one visit, start to finish

How we price bath resealing

Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How many areas need work
  • How hard the colour is to match

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send pictures for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Natural light rather than flash

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote.
