Need bath resealing in Crumpsall?

Why it’s worth resealing in Crumpsall

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking.

Bath resealing at your home in Crumpsall

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. We’re frequently asked to fix sealant that’s split or lifting and black spots in the silicone, on kitchen worktops & sinks, wet rooms and baths.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Crumpsall as everywhere else we work.

Looking after it afterwards

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.

How it works

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes about two hours for a bath, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know about parking or access

Crumpsall questions

Generally, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you will get one combined price.

How long does silicone take to cure?

You will get the curing time from us, normally around a day.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms

What bath resealing costs

You will know the full cost before you book. We look at:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material
  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed price

Phone photos are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Send us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Crumpsall, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
