Bath resealing near Dalgety Bay

What bath resealing costs

A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material and finish
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The colour and finish to match

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send photos for a quote

You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Bath resealing at your home in Dalgety Bay

Preparation is everything in a reseal: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. If you’re dealing with water getting behind the bath or tray and missing sealant behind the taps, we can usually put it right, on kitchen worktops & sinks, baths and shower trays & enclosures alike.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

Dalgety Bay: your questions answered

Do you come to Dalgety Bay?

We do. Technicians travel to Dalgety Bay from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Do you cover the whole of Fife?

The whole UK, including all of Fife. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Normally poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Normally because the bath or tray moves. We seal baths full of water.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Generally after around 24 hours. We confirm before we leave.

When we’d advise against a repair

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Movement in the bath or tray

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Signs you need bath resealing in Dalgety Bay

Sealant does not last forever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould loves, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Gaps by the taps
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Black mould in the sealant

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Our hiring checklist

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Why us?

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

How to get a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Air the room after use
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Keep the joints dry

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
