About our bath resealing in Delph

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. Our repair technicians work on basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures, and the jobs we see most are leaks at the edges and old sealant that looks dirty.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

What bath resealing costs

We charge the same across the UK, including Delph. The price reflects:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How much damage there is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed price

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Natural light rather than flash

If you are in Delph and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Resealing in Delph: why it matters

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Delph. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What we’re called out for in Delph

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: damp hangs around, and mould grows faster.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Gaps by the taps
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • A messy previous reseal

What your quote should include

  • How your room will be protected
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • Who will actually do the work
  • What prep work is covered

10 questions to ask before you book

Different materials, different repairs

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

How the visit works

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a couple of hours, tidy-up included.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Let us know about parking or access

Delph questions

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can new silicone go over old?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone will not bond to old.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

How long does a reseal take?

Usually a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

Can tenants book a repair?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

When a repair isn’t the answer

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • A flexing bath
  • Hidden water damage

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best:

  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
