Bath resealing in Dereham, done in place

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Whether it’s old sealant that looks dirty and a messy previous reseal, we can help, whatever the material.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

When a repair is not the answer

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • A flexing bath
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What we do, step by step

We turn up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes around two hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Aftercare tips

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Use the extractor fan

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally around 24 hours.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Dereham questions

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath or shower and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone will not bond to old.

How quickly can you book me in?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

What does bath resealing cost?

We give a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your NR19 postcode.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

Do you cover the whole of Norfolk?

We cover the whole UK, including Dereham and the rest of Norfolk. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

Prices and what affects them

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • What the surface is made of
  • The type of damage
  • Access to the area

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Dereham. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any details about the material
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Where you are, by postcode

To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll say immediately whether it can be repaired.
