Bath Resealing for Dormers Wells homes
Our technicians come to Dormers Wells for bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone. Everything is done in place, with a one-year guarantee.
- Stained silicone
- Missing sealant behind the taps
- Black mould in the sealant

Bath resealing in Dormers Wells, done in place
Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. If you’re dealing with sealant that’s split or lifting and black spots in the silicone, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

The process
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which generally takes around two hours. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.
- We cut out all of the old sealant.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.
How to prepare
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Repairs by material
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
How to care for the repair
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Air the room after use
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
Signs you need bath resealing in Dormers Wells
In time, even good sealant discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.
People normally call us when they notice one of these:
- Damp near the bath
- Gaps by the taps
- Stained silicone
- Black mould in the sealant

Is resealing worth it?
Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.
Why book with us
- One visit for most repairs
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

You’ll get the curing time from us.

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.
Is my repair covered?
Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
What information do you need?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Is it messy?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.
When a repair is not the answer
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Baths
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Basins & vanity units
DIY repairs versus a professional job
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
