Bath resealing in Drub, done in place

All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Typical jobs include old sealant that looks dirty and damp near the bath, across basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Prices and what affects them

We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material and finish

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed quote

You can take the photos on your phone. Just ensure we can see:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • Where you are, by postcode

For a price in Drub, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Common questions in Drub

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Do you cover Drub?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Drub for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Can tenants book a repair?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

How long does silicone take to cure?

Normally about a day later. We confirm before we leave.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Drub

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit.

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes a couple of hours. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

Why reseal now?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
