Trusted bath resealing in Eagle Hall

Bath resealing in Eagle Hall without replacing anything

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. If you’re dealing with gaps in the seal and black spots in the silicone, we can generally put it right, on basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and baths alike.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

Looking after it afterwards

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Air the room after use
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Use the extractor fan

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Resealing in Eagle Hall: why it matters

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

What we do, step by step

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes about two hours for a bath. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Getting a price

Related advice

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Lincolnshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

What affects the price in Eagle Hall

Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material and finish
  • What kind of damage it is

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Any details about the material
  • Where you are, by postcode

Most customers in Eagle Hall get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Normally after around 24 hours. We will tell you the exact time.
