Bath resealing in East Butterwick without replacing anything
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Whether it’s old sealant that looks dirty and an untidy old seal, we can help.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Advice
What affects the price in East Butterwick
A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:
- Access to the area
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
How to get a fixed price
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
Most clients in East Butterwick get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Honest limits
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Hidden water damage
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Is resealing worth it?
Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Dry the seal after bathing
Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
Can I fix it myself?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
