Your questions about bath resealing in Brigg

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Brigg.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

How long will it take?

A bath or shower normally takes a couple of hours. Leave it to cure before use.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

Which areas do you work in?

All of North Lincolnshire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

How we handle bath resealing in Brigg

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. Whether it’s unsealed corners and silicone coming away from the tiles, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

What happens on the day

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take around two hours.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

Resealing in Brigg: why it matters

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Brigg. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

When we would advise against a repair

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths

For landlords and businesses

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
