How we handle bath resealing in Ellington

Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. Common call-outs are for mould you can’t clean out and silicone smeared on tiles, on wet rooms, baths and basins & vanity units.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What affects the price in Ellington

Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Ellington. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • Any details about the material
  • Details of any past repairs

Most customers in Ellington get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Landlord and trade work in Ellington

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

When a repair is not the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • A flexing bath
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes a couple of hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Signs you need bath resealing in Ellington

In time, even good sealant discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.

People usually call us after spotting one of these:

  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Unsealed corners
  • Silicone smeared on tiles

Questions to ask before booking

  • Who turns up on the day
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • How the colour is matched

Our hiring checklist

Is resealing worth it?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why book with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
