Entwistle questions

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Do you cover the entire of Bolton?

We work UK-wide. Prices don’t change with location.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Bolton.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.

About our bath resealing in Entwistle

Preparation is everything in a reseal: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Then the fresh sealant goes on, as one neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s silicone coming away from the tiles and unsealed corners, we can help, whatever the material.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Keeping it looking good

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem; it shows moisture is getting in. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units

Why reseal now?

A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

Why us?

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

What happens on the day

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take a couple of hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

How to prepare

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Choosing a repair company

What bath resealing costs

There’s no charge for travel to Entwistle. The price comes down to:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Details of any past repairs

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
