How we handle bath resealing in Esprick
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. We regularly repair basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & sinks, and the jobs we see most are damp near the bath and black mould in the sealant.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Esprick questions
Can you reseal over the old silicone?
All the old sealant comes out. Fresh silicone doesn’t stick to old.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Something is moving. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.
Why does mould come back so fast?
Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
What information do you need?
Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole bath or shower and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
Do you cover Esprick?
Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Esprick from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
Is there any odour?
There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.
What else we do in Esprick
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Air the room after use
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Ventilate the bathroom well
Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
Common problems we fix in Esprick
Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning cannot get it all out.
You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:
- Unsealed corners
- Stained silicone
- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Leaks at the edges

- A flexing bath

Why it’s worth resealing in Esprick
Resealing costs very little, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Can I fix it myself?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
How it works
From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a couple of hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Advice
Landlords, agents and businesses in Esprick
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
What bath resealing costs
We do not charge extra for travel to Esprick. The price comes down to:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.
Send pictures for a quote
Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:
- One picture of the whole bath or shower
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
