Bath resealing in Eyemouth

Bath resealing in Eyemouth without replacing anything

Preparation is everything in a reseal: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. We work on baths, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures, and common reasons people get in touch are damp near the bath and an untidy old seal.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

What a repair cannot fix

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Movement in the bath or tray

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms

Resealing in Eyemouth: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

What you get with us

  • No need to remove anything
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • We leave the room as we found it

See our pricing.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Air the room after use
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Keep the joints dry

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally around 24 hours.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Eyemouth questions

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole UK, including Eyemouth and the rest of the Scottish Borders. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath or shower and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

How long will it take?

A bath or shower generally takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

You will get the curing time from us.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

What happens on the day

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. On site, it takes around two hours. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

How we price bath resealing

There’s no charge for travel to Eyemouth. The price depends on:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What kind of damage it is

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

How to get a fixed quote

Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Any details about the material
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or call us. We will say straight away whether it can be repaired.
