Trusted bath resealing in Farley Wood

Bath resealing in Farley Wood, done in place

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Whether it’s gaps by the taps and black mould in the sealant, we can normally put it right.

Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Ventilate the bathroom well

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

When a repair is not the answer

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths

Is resealing worth it?

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

What bath resealing costs

Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The size and number of damaged areas

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

Getting a price from pictures

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Landlord and trade work in Farley Wood

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What we do, step by step

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job generally takes about two hours for a bath. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
