Bath resealing near Gants Hill

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Bath resealing in Gants Hill without replacing anything

All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Common call-outs are for sealant that’s split or lifting and unsealed corners, across wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and baths.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we’ve gone.

What we do, step by step

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes about two hours for a bath, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Advice

Why reseal now?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

What bath resealing costs

We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book.

How to get a fixed quote

Phone pictures are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos using our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Signs you need bath resealing in Gants Hill

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning only removes the surface.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Unsealed corners
  • Silicone smeared on tiles

What your quote should include

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Who turns up on the day

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

What a repair can’t fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
