Trusted bath resealing in Gillock

Bath resealing in Gillock, done in place

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. If you’re dealing with silicone coming away from the tiles and black spots in the silicone, we can help, on baths, wet rooms and basins & vanity units alike.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

Landlord and trade work in Gillock

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Highland and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

When a repair isn’t the answer

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Questions from Gillock

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Signs you need bath resealing in Gillock

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning cannot get it all out.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Mould you can’t clean out
  • Unsealed corners
  • Gaps in the seal
  • A messy previous reseal

  • How the colour is matched
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How long it needs to cure

How the visit works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes around two hours. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

How to prepare

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Air the room after use
  • Keep bottles off the joints

Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use to keep mould away.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Is resealing worth it?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.
