Bath resealing at your home in Glapwell
A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the whole room look cleaner, and they keep water out. Common call-outs are for stained silicone and silicone smeared on tiles, in baths, wet rooms and basins & vanity units.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Glapwell: your questions answered
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Will the price change on the day?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We come back with a fixed price, plus dates. You’re under no obligation.
Can you quote from pictures?
Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.
Why does the silicone keep cracking?
Generally because the bath or tray moves. We fill the bath before sealing it.
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
How long will it take?
Usually a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.
What affects the price in Glapwell
Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- The colour and finish to match
- The material
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The size and number of damaged areas
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
How to get a fixed quote
You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Ensure they show:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- One picture of the entire bath or shower
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.
Is resealing worth it?
Putting new silicone over old does not last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

The process
Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a couple of hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- We clean the joint and treat any mould.
- We ensure the joint is completely dry.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.
Preparing for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Open a window if you can
Getting a price
To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Let steam out after showers
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, usually around 24 hours.
Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
