Bath resealing at your home in Glenowen

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the whole room look cleaner, and they keep water out. We regularly repair baths, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks, and common reasons people contact us are gaps by the taps and silicone coming away from the tiles.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Why reseal now?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

Your questions about bath resealing in Glenowen

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole UK, including Glenowen and the rest of Pembrokeshire. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

Will the price change on the day?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Do you charge for travel?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

How long does a reseal take?

Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.

The process

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes around two hours. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Getting a price

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

Advice

Prices and what affects them

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Most customers in Glenowen get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

What we’re called out for in Glenowen

No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould feeds on, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Sealant that is split or lifting
  • Damp near the bath
  • An untidy old seal
  • Mould you can’t clean out

What your quote should include

  • How the colour is matched
  • Who turns up on the day
  • What prep work is covered
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included

Our hiring checklist

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

What a repair cannot fix

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.
