Bath resealing at your home in Great Denham
A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Typical jobs include silicone smeared on tiles and stained silicone, on basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms.
Every job is backed for twelve months in Great Denham and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

How to look after the repair
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Open a window after bathing
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Dry the seal after bathing
- Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.
Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
Common problems we fix in Great Denham
Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed with the bath empty.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Black mould in the sealant
- Old sealant that looks dirty
- Gaps in the seal
What your quote should include
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- How to care for the finish
- Who will actually do the work
How we price bath resealing
We don’t charge extra for travel to Great Denham. The price comes down to:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How hard the colour is to match
- The type of damage
- The material
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Getting a price from pictures
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Details of any past repairs
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

What a repair cannot fix
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Wet rooms
- Baths
- Basins & vanity units
Is resealing worth it?
Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Why book with us

- Honest advice, even when it means no job

How the visit works
On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job normally takes about two hours for a bath. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
Related advice
Can I fix it myself?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Repairs by material
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
