Bath resealing at your home in Greensted Green

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. Whether it’s mould you can’t clean out and silicone coming away from the tiles, we can normally put it right, on basins & vanity units, wet rooms and shower trays & enclosures alike.

Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Is resealing worth it?

A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why Greensted Green customers choose us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Common problems we fix in Greensted Green

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning cannot get it all out.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Mould you can’t clean out
  • Gaps by the taps

Questions to ask before you book

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • When it can be used again
  • What happens if they find more damage

Honest limits

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Movement in the bath or tray

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet. Protection goes down first, then the work takes around two hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Related advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple:

  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Air the room after use
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Greensted Green questions

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Typically because the bath or tray moves, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We fill the bath before sealing it.

Do you charge for travel?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Do you cover Greensted Green?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Greensted Green and the rest of Essex. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
