Prices and what affects them
There’s no area surcharge for Gwynedd. What changes the price is:
- What the surface is made of
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How many areas need work
- How easy the damage is to reach
There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Getting a price from photos
Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Any details about the material
You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
How we handle bath resealing in Gwynedd
We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal doesn’t tear when the bath is first used. If you are dealing with gaps in the seal and missing sealant behind the taps, we can help, whatever the material.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Gwynedd and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Looking after it afterwards
Aftercare is simple:
- Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Use the extractor fan
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
Why it’s worth resealing in Gwynedd
Resealing costs very little. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

How it works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes a couple of hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We cut out all of the old sealant.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
How to prepare
- Open a window if you can
- Let us know about parking or access
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Can I fix it myself?
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
Gwynedd questions
Is there any odour?
There may be a mild smell during the work.
Why does mould come back so fast?
Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.
Why does the silicone keep cracking?
Movement is the usual cause. We seal baths full of water.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Normally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
Are you accredited?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
How quickly can you book me in?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
