Bath resealing in Hall End

Prices and what affects them

We charge the same across the UK, including Hall End. The price reflects:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material and finish
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Quotes from your photos

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A photo taken from further back

Upload a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Hall End, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

How we handle bath resealing in Hall End

All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. We regularly repair wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units, and common reasons people get in touch are damp near the bath and discoloured, yellow sealant.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What you get with us

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • No need to remove anything
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

What we cannot put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Hall End questions

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Do you cover Hall End?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Hall End. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first.

What do you need from me?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Repairs by material

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Work for landlords and builders

If you manage property in Hall End, we will quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to about two hours for a bath, including clearing up.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

What we are called out for in Hall End

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Damp near the bath
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • An untidy old seal

Before booking anyone

  • When it can be used again
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
