Bath resealing in Hallgarth, done in place

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. If you’re dealing with a messy previous reseal and silicone coming away from the tiles, we can usually put it right, on wet rooms, baths and shower trays & enclosures alike.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Prices and what affects them

There is no area surcharge for Hallgarth. The price reflects:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

You can take the pictures on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any details about the material
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Common questions in Hallgarth

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

How long does silicone take to cure?

We’ll give you the curing time, usually around a day.

Which areas do you work in?

The entire UK, including all of County Durham. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will confirm dates.

Do the materials smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

How long will it take?

Most reseals take about two hours. Leave it to cure before use.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Hallgarth.

Are you accredited?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

What we can’t put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Hollow or loose tiles

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why book with us

  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

What happens on the day

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes around two hours. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
