How we price bath resealing
There is no area surcharge for Headless Cross. The price reflects:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The material
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Getting a price from photos
Phone pictures are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Ensure they show:
- Something in shot to show the size
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Where you are, by postcode
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.
Bath resealing in Headless Cross without replacing anything
Baths, trays, basins and kitchen worktops all get resealed using mould-resistant silicone. Most jobs take a couple of hours. If you are dealing with black spots in the silicone and a messy previous reseal, we can typically put it right, whatever the material.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it.

What a repair can’t fix
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- A flexing bath
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Basins & vanity units
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
- Wet rooms
The process
Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. Allow about two hours for a bath, and we will tell you if anything changes.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- We clean, treat and dry the joint.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
Getting a price
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We will say straight away whether it can be repaired.
Related advice
Your questions about bath resealing in Headless Cross
How do I stop mould in sealant?
Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.
What happens after I send pictures?
We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.
Do you work in Headless Cross?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Headless Cross and the rest of Worcestershire. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
How quickly can you book me in?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.
Is it messy?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Resealing in Headless Cross: why it matters
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Common problems we fix in Headless Cross
Poor ventilation speeds things up: moisture sits on the joints longer, and mould takes hold.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Gaps by the taps
- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Sealant that is split or lifting
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
Before you book anyone
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- Aftercare advice
- Whether the price covers travel
- What happens if they find more damage
Keeping it looking good
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Store bottles on a shelf
- Keep the joints dry
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
- Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
Landlord and trade work in Headless Cross
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Worcestershire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
DIY kit or professional repair?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
