What we can’t put right

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units

Bath resealing at your home in High Heath

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Common call-outs are for gaps in the seal and discoloured, yellow sealant, across shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

What bath resealing costs

We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The type of damage
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many items we do on one visit

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for High Heath. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Details of any past repairs
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Aftercare tips

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Use the extractor fan

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

High Heath questions

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and you will get one combined price.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

What do you need from me?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

How long does resealing take?

Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes around two hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

How to prepare

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Open a window if you can

Ask for a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Related advice

Do you need bath resealing in High Heath?

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • An untidy old seal
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Gaps in the seal

Before booking anyone

  • If travel is included in the price
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

How to compare quotes

Is resealing worth it?

A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Work done at your home or business

DIY repairs versus a professional job

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
