Bath resealing for Highstreet Green homes

Bath resealing at your home in Highstreet Green

A good reseal is all about preparation: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Then the fresh sealant goes on, as one neat, continuous bead. We’re often asked to fix gaps in the seal and old sealant that looks dirty, across baths, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Highstreet Green questions

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

Are there extra charges for Highstreet Green?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

What does bath resealing cost?

The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

How long does silicone take to cure?

You will get the curing time from us.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

How the visit works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Allow about two hours for a bath. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

How to prepare

Honest limits

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we work on in Highstreet Green

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

How we price bath resealing

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Send pictures for a quote

Phone pictures are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Upload a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your GU8 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

For landlords and businesses

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Looking after it afterwards

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Let steam out after showers

Keep the room well ventilated, and dry the joints after bathing to keep mould away.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
