Bath Resealing in How End
We travel to How End for bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone. Everything is done in place, with a one-year guarantee.
- Stained silicone
- Gaps by the taps
- An untidy old seal

Why reseal now?
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Why us?
- We leave the room as we found it
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
- Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

How End questions
Can pets and children be at home?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
How quickly can you book me in?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.
How long does resealing take?
Usually a couple of hours, plus curing time.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Work for landlords and builders
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
What we are called out for in How End
Sealant doesn’t last forever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould loves, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.
Look out for these signs:
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- Sealant that’s split or lifting
- Damp near the bath
- Unsealed corners
Before you book anyone
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- How changes to the job are handled
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
When we would advise against a repair
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We cannot fix:
- Hidden water damage
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Basins & vanity units
- Wet rooms
- Baths
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
The process
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Getting ready for the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
Getting a price
To get a price, send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll say right away whether it can be repaired.

Looking after it afterwards
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
