Bath resealing near Jersey Farm

Bath resealing in Jersey Farm, done in place

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. We regularly repair basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms, and common reasons people contact us are missing sealant behind the taps and sealant that’s split or lifting.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it.

Aftercare tips

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Air the room after use

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Hidden water damage

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units

  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Do you need bath resealing in Jersey Farm?

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: moisture sits on the joints longer, and mould grows faster.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A messy previous reseal
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Sealant that is split or lifting
  • Missing sealant behind the taps

What your quote should include

Prices and what affects them

Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • How many areas need work
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Send pictures for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower, we can price the job without visiting.

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why book with us

Jersey Farm: your questions answered

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

How long will it take?

Typically a couple of hours, plus curing time.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Normally because the bath or tray moves. We fill the bath before sealing it.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take about two hours for a bath, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know about parking or access

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
