Bath resealing at your home in Kelloholm

A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Then the fresh sealant goes on, in a neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s sealant that’s split or lifting and a messy previous reseal, we can help, on kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and baths alike.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

How we price bath resealing

A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What kind of damage it is

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Kelloholm. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Kelloholm: your questions answered

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

How long does resealing take?

Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

You’ll get the curing time from us.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

What happens on the day

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a couple of hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Open a window if you can

Getting a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

What a repair cannot fix

We won’t take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, usually around 24 hours.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Why it’s worth resealing in Kelloholm

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Common problems we fix in Kelloholm

Joints split if the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed while the bath was empty.
