Bath resealing near Kidbrooke

Why reseal now?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Kidbrooke. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What you get with us

How we handle bath resealing in Kidbrooke

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. We work on baths, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks, and common reasons people get in touch are water getting behind the bath or tray and gaps by the taps.

All our work comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Greater London.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

If you manage property in Kidbrooke, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we’ll price them together.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

How to care for the repair

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally around 24 hours.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

What we’re called out for in Kidbrooke

Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning cannot get it all out.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A messy previous reseal
  • Unsealed corners
  • Stained silicone
  • Gaps in the seal

Before booking anyone

  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Aftercare advice
  • How the room is protected while they work

What we can’t put right

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

The process

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to around two hours.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
