When we would advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Hidden water damage
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths

Bath resealing in Lady Green, done in place

We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Whether it’s water getting behind the bath or tray and silicone smeared on tiles, we can help, on wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and baths alike.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Common questions in Lady Green

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Lady Green included. There’s no extra charge for travel.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you work in Lady Green?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Lady Green and the rest of Sefton. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mould needs moisture. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

What affects the price in Lady Green

Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • How many areas need work
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Lady Green. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Natural light rather than flash

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

What happens on the day

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes a couple of hours. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Advice

Aftercare tips

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Air the room after use
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
