Bath resealing in Little Laver without replacing anything

We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Common call-outs are for an untidy old seal and leaks at the edges, across baths, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Little Laver and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Little Laver questions

Can you quote from pictures?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Little Laver and the rest of Essex. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

Do you come to Little Laver?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Little Laver and the rest of Essex. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

We always remove the old sealant completely. Fresh silicone does not stick to old.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We come back with a fixed price, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What happens on the day

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a couple of hours. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Ask for a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

What affects the price in Little Laver

We give every job a fixed price from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material and finish
  • Unusual colours or finishes

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed quote

You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Why it’s worth resealing in Little Laver

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Why Little Laver clients choose us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • One visit for most repairs

See our prices page.

Keeping it looking good

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Keep bottles off the joints

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
