What a repair can’t fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Bath resealing in Little Ouse, done in place

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. We’re frequently asked to fix gaps in the seal and unsealed corners, on wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

What you get with us

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures

Questions from Little Ouse

How long before I can shower?

We’ll give you the curing time, typically around a day.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Typically, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

What does bath resealing cost?

We give a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your CB7 postcode.

How do I book?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

How the visit works

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for around two hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Advice

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Prices and what affects them

A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What the surface is made of
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How hard the colour is to match

Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Quotes from your photos

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

If you are in Little Ouse and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
