Bath resealing for Little Stoke homes

Bath resealing in Little Stoke, done in place

We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Common call-outs are for old sealant that looks dirty and an untidy old seal, across basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and baths.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

How to look after the repair

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Let steam out after showers

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

What you get with us

Your questions about bath resealing in Little Stoke

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.

How long does resealing take?

Normally a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Typically poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

The process

There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take around two hours.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Advice

Prices and what affects them

A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A photo taken from further back
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Little Stoke as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit.

What a repair can’t fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • A flexing bath
  • Hollow or loose tiles

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.
